Google API Services — Limited Use Disclosure

Overview

Cofy ("we", "us", "our") is a B2B sales engagement platform that allows users to connect their email accounts — including Google Workspace and Gmail accounts — to manage personalized outreach campaigns, track replies, and analyze campaign performance.

This page describes how Cofy accesses, uses, stores, and shares data obtained through Google APIs, in compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

What Google data does Cofy access?

When a user connects their Google account, Cofy requests only the minimum API scopes necessary to provide the service. The specific OAuth scopes requested are:

Full Gmail API access — required to send outreach emails on the user's behalf, compose and draft outreach messages, read replies to campaigns in the unified inbox, manage Gmail labels for campaign organization, track delivery status, and automatically detect unsubscribe/opt-out replies. Narrower scopes (such as gmail.send, gmail.readonly, or gmail.modify) do not individually cover all required operations (send + read + compose + label management) within a single OAuth grant.

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email

User email address — used to identify which Google account the user is connecting and associate it with their Cofy account.

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.profile

User profile name — used to display the user's name in the Cofy dashboard and pre-populate the sender name field for accurate sender identification as required by CAN-SPAM regulations.

Cofy does not access, read, or process personal emails that are unrelated to the user's outreach campaigns.

How does Cofy use Google data?

Google user data is used solely to:

  • Compose, draft, and send outreach emails as configured by the user.
  • Read and display replies to outreach campaigns in the unified inbox.
  • Manage Gmail labels to organize and categorize campaign-related messages.
  • Provide campaign analytics (open rates, reply rates, bounce tracking).
  • Process unsubscribe requests by identifying opt-out replies.

Limited Use Compliance

Cofy's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We only use Google data to provide and improve user-facing features of Cofy. Google data is not used for any purpose other than providing the Cofy service as described above.
  • We do not transfer Google data to third parties except: (a) as necessary to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in the requesting application's user interface, (b) to comply with applicable laws, or (c) as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale — and only with prior notice to users.
  • We do not use Google data for serving advertisements, including retargeting, personalized, or interest-based advertising.
  • We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless: (a) we have the user's affirmative agreement for specific messages (e.g., customer support), (b) it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, (c) it is necessary to comply with applicable law, or (d) the data has been aggregated and anonymized and is used only for internal operations.

Email warming is not available for Google accounts

Cofy does not provide email warming, inbox warming, or any form of artificial deliverability manipulation for Google accounts (Gmail / Google Workspace).

If Cofy offers deliverability optimization features for other email service providers in the future, such features will explicitly exclude Google accounts and will not use Google APIs in any way. Use of Cofy to warm up, artificially inflate deliverability, or manipulate sending reputation for Google accounts is strictly prohibited under our Terms of Service, and will result in immediate account termination.

Data storage and security

Google user data accessed by Cofy is stored securely using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We retain Google data only as long as necessary to provide the service. Users can disconnect their Google account at any time, at which point we will delete the associated Google data within 30 days.

Revoking access

Users can revoke Cofy's access to their Google account at any time by:

Upon revocation, Cofy will no longer be able to send or read emails from the disconnected Google account, and stored Google data will be deleted within 30 days.
